Hello I am Heather Young, the owner of Star Strong Dance Company. I have been dancing since the age of 3. I have been teaching since I was 14. Dance is my passion! My goal in teaching is to empower each child with confidence, good work ethics and to never give up. Because we are all Star Strong!
Hi! I’m Savannah Shoe and I have been dancing since the age of 2. Tap has always been my favorite, and I’m proud to say I won Nationals in tap all four years of high school! I’ve been teaching for 5 years now, and I especially love working on tap and technique with my students.
My goal as a teacher is to help each dancer grow in confidence, on and off the stage. When I’m not in the studio, I work full-time in marketing and spend my days with my wonderful husband and our two sweet dogs.
I am Mya Lanier! I am an undergraduate student at Catawba College, currently studying Nursing.
My journey in cheer, dance, and tumbling began at a young age. I started cheer at 3, tumbling at 5, and dance at 6. Soon after, I entered the exciting world of competition dance. I continued cheering throughout middle school, high school, and into college, while also consistently tumbling and performing. At 14, I began teaching dance, which allowed me to share my passion with the next generation. I have truly loved every moment of my experiences, from the stage to the sidelines.
Sandy’s passion for dance began at a young age, training at prestigious studios across North Carolina. She started her journey at Judy Baylin Dance Studio in Clemmons (1974–1975) before honing her skills at Lummie Jo & Bobbi's School of Dance in Lexington (1975–1980). She continued her training at Dorminy's in Winston-Salem (1981–1982) and Dancer's Theatre in Lexington (1982–1983), building a strong foundation in technique and performance.
Sandy’s professional career includes co-owning and teaching at SanSher's Studio of Dance in Lexington (1989–1991), as well as teaching at SanSher's at YMCA Rowan County (1993–1994). Most recently, she shared her love for dance with the community through Dance Dreams (2014–2023).
With decades of experience as both a student and teacher, Sandy brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication, and creativity to every class. Her mission is to inspire dancers of all ages to grow, explore, and discover the joy of movement.
